About Us
The Ministry of Rural and Riverine Roads is one of the executive/technical arms of the Delta State Government responsible for road projects in the rural and riverine areas of the State. These projects include drainage structures, road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance to integrate rural and riverine areas.

Departments
Each department has it’s core functions and responsibilities:

Department of Rural Roads
Responsible for conception, planning, design, construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of Civil Engineering Projects executed in the rural areas of the state.

Department of Riverine Roads
Responsible for conception, planning, design, construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of Civil Engineering Projects executed in the riverine areas of the state.

Department of Administration
Charged with the Personnel Management of the Ministry which encompasses discipline, promotion recruitment of junior officers and maintenance of facilities in the Ministry.

Department of Planning, Research and Statistics
Serves as the Secretariat of the Ministerial Tenders Board. The department is also responsible for the preparation of capital budget and contract agreements of the projects executed by the Ministry and the writing of the Ministry’s Annual Report.

Department of Finance and Account
Responsible for the accounting for receipts and payments of the Ministry, interpreting all financial codes, invoice verification of payments in SAP, rendition of monthly and annual financial report of the Ministry, reconciliation of the Ministry’s accounts etc.
